Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Chiang Rai.

Arriving in Chiang Rai, you will be met and taken to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day to relax after your flight.

This morning you will head to the border. After clearing Lao immigration you will board a traditionally styled wooden boat and begin your journey along the mighty Mekong River to Pakbeng.

Driving northeast you pass through beautiful countryside and arrive in Oudomxay Province, in the heart of northern Laos. You will have two nights in this beautiful area.

Explore the area's remote villages with your guide, including a Hmong village and a village inhabited by the Ikoh tribe, who came to the region from Tibet generations ago.

Continuing through northern Laos today you reach the riverside community at Nong Khiaw, a spectacular river journey. Stay in a wooden bungalow on stilts on the banks of the River Ou.
