To help preserve the park, private vehicles are only able to travel a short way inside Denali National Park. Additionally, there are ongoing works to the Park Road. As a result, for the time being, visitors will need to stay at the park entrance.

The park entrance is really an area that stretches a few miles along the George Parks Highway and is dotted with a wide variety of accommodation options, making it the base for up to 90 per cent of the park's visitors.

Exploring Denali Park Entrance

The Denali Visitor Center, located near the railway station and the nearby National Park headquarters both hold excellent dog-sledding demonstrations daily, making them well worth a look.

A shuttle service operates throughout the region with regular buses from the station to most hotels. The park entrance is also the departure point for day tours within Denali National Park and is also the jumping off point for thrilling rafting and flightseeing trips.
