Itinerary idea in detail

Private customized tour. Ask us about booking your international flights at our preferred rates.

  • Upon arrival in Anchorage, make your own way to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax after your flight.

  • Enjoy a day exploring at leisure. You may wish to visit Anchorage Museum to learn about Alaska’s indigenous people, or perhaps head to Westchester Lagoon to go ice skating, warming up by the fire barrels, or try out fat-biking on one of the backcountry trails just outside the city.

  • Today, you’ll be transferred to Hood Lake near Anchorage, where a ski plane will be waiting to take you to Winterlake Lodge. After a 50-minute flight in a light aircraft, you’ll touch down on Winter Lake in front of the property. You’ll have some time to explore the lodge and surrounding landscape or simply sit down and relax, taking in the excellent views, before dinner. The lodge is owned by pre-eminent chef Kirsten Dixon and prides itself on serving superb cuisine and offers excellent culinary classes.

  • Enjoy your first full day at Winterlake Lodge today. This luxurious log building is the perfect base for getting active in Alaska's great outdoors and experiencing cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and dog-sledding tours. At the lodge, you can join cooking and yoga classes, or unwind with a massage. In the late afternoon, you can relax by the fire with a hot chocolate or glass of wine, before dinner is served. When night comes, keep watch for the northern lights, venturing out to the viewing deck if they appear.

  • More winter adventures await you today. You can spend the day trying out any activities that you have not yet experienced. You may wish to strap on snowshoes to explore the property’s 15 acres, take photos of the spectacular scenery, or enjoy some rejuvenating experiences inside the lodge, such as a massage or yoga class. Tonight, watch out for the northern lights and hope for an impressive display on your final night in the Last Frontier.

  • Today, you’ll take the ski plane from your wilderness lodge back to Anchorage, where you’ll make your own way to the airport for your onward flight.
