Just two hours south from Sydney you will find this charming Outback encounter nestled among the extraordinary paperbark trees, which give this wilderness camp its name and character.
Your friendly hosts, Irena and Jeremy, have proudly created a special and unique accommodation experience for a few privileged guests. Inspired by a trip to Africa, this tented camp preserves the essential elements of the bush whilst illustrating that style and sophistication can also be part of the equation.
The high ceiling tents raised on sturdy timber platforms blend the dusky colours of canvas and raw timber with olive leaves and the peeling smoky bark of the spotted gums, creating one natural, seamless experience. The central meeting place or 'Gunyah' as it is known by the Aboriginals, is the heart of the camp and where your gourmet breakfast will be served daily.
There is also the opportunity to indulge in an unforgettable dinner that literally put Jervis Bay on the food map. Talented chef, Paul Bishop came to Jervis Bay via a string of distinguished Sydney eateries to showcase his spectacular culinary expertise in this remarkable landscape. Paul subtly infuses local ingredients with fresh succulent seafood, Greek flavours and Aboriginal cooking techniques for a gastronomic delight to further enhance your stay at this beautiful bushland camp.
Irena and Jeremy are proud to invite you to 'do it all or nothing at all' — spend the day relaxing in the sanctuary of the camp surrounded by intriguing wildlife or explore the exquisite white sand beaches with some of the best diving in New South Wales, or trek along the pristine coastline of neighbouring Booderee National Park.
Whatever you choose to do, you will discover that teeming with colourful birdlife, plants, animals and local characters, Jervis Bay is undoubtedly a truly remarkable experience.
