'Lediba' is Setswana for 'pool' or 'lagoon', and the Chitabe Lediba Camp lives up to this in terms of its location overlooking a natural waterhole/channel. The open, shady bar and dining area, along with the camp's comfortable lounge, provide a relaxed setting in which to spend time browsing books with a cool drink, watching the grazing warthog or spotting the variety of busy birdlife.
Accommodation is in Meru-style tents, which are raised on platforms for optimal views. The small number of tents means that your privacy is ensured and makes for an informal, friendly atmosphere.
A relaxed, comfortable camp, Chitabe Lediba frequently has wildlife wandering in and out, making it feel very authentic and wild.

Rooms
Low boardwalks lead through the trees to five large tented rooms, each with en suite bathrooms, outdoor showers and shady verandas with views over the savannah. Rooms come pleasantly decorated in dark woods, cool greys and white linens. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided and the beds are equipped with mosquito nets. There are family tents available with adjoining bedrooms.
Location
The camp is located in the private Chitabe Concession in the Okavango Delta, adjoining the Moremi Game Reserve. You'll find a huge range of wildlife here, from elephant, giraffe and zebra to lion, leopard and wild dogs.
Food and drink
Meals are always social and fun at Chitabe, served in a buffet style. They're often eaten outdoors under the stars or by the poolside in the shade.
Families
Family accommodation is available, with some of the tents featuring adjoining rooms.
Facilities and activities
During the day, game drives offer superb photographic opportunities and guided walks are exhilarating as you make your way through the wilderness in search of wildlife. There are two hides on the Chitabe Concession, which are both very peaceful and make excellent places to sit and quietly observe the wildlife. You can either walk to one of the hides and spend time game viewing there, or the more adventurous can choose to do an overnight sleep out for a truly thrilling experience. There's also a small swimming pool, allowing you to enjoy a refreshing dip under the hot sun, with sun loungers surrounding the pool deck creating a peaceful spot for a gentle doze.
Environmental and social responsibility
Chitabe Lediba is involved with the ‘Children in the Wilderness’ initiative of Wilderness Safaris, inviting its staff's children to the camp for an annual Christmas Party. Two days of activities cover conservation, game drives and fun educational opportunities. The camp is also involved locally with the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust, Coaching for Conservation, Maun Animal Welfare Society and also provides help, both financially and operationally, with an annual aerial survey of the Chitabe Concession to establish information on local wildlife populations.

To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can't be bettered.
