Nafplia Palace Villas

Nafplio, Greece

Part of the Nafplio Palace Hotel & Villas, a large cliff-top property overlooking the town of Nafplio, the Nafplia Palace Villas are some of the most exclusive lodgings in the town. They are set among shady pines and offer far-reaching views over the sea, but also offer access to the wider range of facilities available at the main hotel.

The hotel restaurant with its unobstructed views over the sea is in an adjacent building, and the town of Nafplio is a short walk away. Villa guests have the choice of two pools: the large outdoor hotel pool which is surrounded by a stone deck and plush loungers, or the quieter infinity pool which is reserved for villa guests.

The 33 villas themselves are spacious and bright with high quality finishes, sea views and an outdoor terrace. Many also have private plunge pools. The palette of light, neutral tones and natural stone featured throughout complements the lush surroundings and the deep blue of the sea.

While the hotel feels quiet and secluded, a convenient elevator through the hill connects the property to the town below meaning plenty of dining options, the quaint lanes of Nafplio’s old town, and historical sightseeing are all within walking distance.

OUR OPINION:

We love the Nafplia Palace Villas for their chic, sleek design and spacious rooms. The views from the property and the rooms are also excellent.

Rooms

The villas of Nafplia Palace are nestled into the hillside and spread over a few levels connected by stone staircases. All the villas benefit from plenty of space, views over the town and the sea, and chic, contemporary decor. Pale parquet floors and crisp white fabrics, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows make rooms bright and airy. All villas have marble bathrooms, satellite TV, Wi-Fi and an outdoor terrace, and many come with a private plunge pool.

Location

The hotel’s elevated position affords panoramic views, yet it is still within walking distance of the town. An elevator from the hotel takes guests down to the level of the town from where a somewhat dingy tunnel leads out to the main streets. The property is also accessible by road from the other side, which makes arriving and departing easy.

Food and drink

The property’s restaurant, Amimoni, is located between the villas and the main hotel building and benefits from sweeping sea views from both the indoor and outdoor seating areas. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining room offer unobstructed views onto the sea and Bourtzi Castle. The menu features contemporary Mediterranean dishes, and an exclusive wine list is available. A pianist regularly performs in the evenings.

Facilities and activities

An outdoor infinity pool is reserved for guests of the villas. Another larger outdoor pool with plenty of loungers is also available near the main hotel. Both pools look out onto the sea.
