Cabot Lodge overlooks Lake Manapouri and the Fiordland National Park and has four rooms that accommodate up to 10 guests. Each suite has an outdoor sitting area with a fireplace to look out onto the surrounding mountains and lakes, a large double bed with luxurious linens, an en suite bathroom with heated floors, and a small sitting area.
While here, you can explore the 2,000-acre working sheep and deer station that is owned and operated by a local Kiwi family, or take a hike on one of the several private hiking trails that surrounds the property. In the evening, enjoy some time in the outdoor cedar hot tub or kick back with a book in the library.
In the morning, wake to a farm-style cooked breakfast and in the evening you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the common area or courtyard, before driving 20 minutes to Te Anau for dinner.

Cabot Lodge comprises four large master suites. Each suite is located in a separate building and is surrounded by a courtyard with an outdoor fireplace and has an en suite bathroom with heated floors, a super king bed with luxurious linens, and fresh fruit and baked goods in the room.
The Premier Suite is the lodge's largest suite and includes a private kitchen and dining room, whereas the Deluxe Suite and Courtyard Suite have large living spaces. The Two Bedroom Suite is the only suite that includes two adjoining rooms with a shared bathroom, which is perfect for a family or friends travelling together.
Location
Cabot Lodge is located in the heart of Fiordland, bordering the World Heritage Fiordland National Park and the Waiau River, one of New Zealand's best trout fishing locations.
The lodge overlooks Lake Manapouri and the Cathedral Peak mountains. It is five-minutes from the departure point for Doubtful Sound, 10-minutes from the Kepler Track and 20-minutes from the iconic Milford Road, which leads to Milford Sound, as well as the Milford and Routeburn Track.
Food and drink
With your stay, a continental breakfast is included and made up of a spread of homemade baked goods and an extensive cooked breakfast menu. In the evening, you can choose to pre-book dinner in the intimate dining room, which features fresh farm-to-table meals accompanied by local New Zealand wines. A picnic lunch can also be pre-arranged at the lodge if you choose to go for a day hike. Alternatively, the towns of Te Anau and Manapouri are just a short drive to enjoy a meal in a local restaurant or pub.
