Amakhala Bukela Game Lodge

Amakhala is a conservation area of 6,500 hectares providing breathtaking views, wide open African plains and a fantastic diversity of wildlife. The land was once various farms that have been amalgamated and returned to their natural bushveld state, populated with game species indigenous to the area. Game viewing is excellent in the reserve, and the rangers are knowledgeable. An added bonus is that the Eastern Cape is malaria-free.

Bukela Game Lodge is a five-star lodge based in the Amakhala Reserve nestled in a hidden valley tucked away among indigenous bushes and trees. The thatched buildings are connected by wooden walkways and the lodge has a very tranquil relaxed feel ideal for resting in between your game drives. Each of the four suites is luxuriously decorated in a simple African theme and gives you the privacy you would expect being in the Africa bush. The en suite bathrooms have a spa bath overlooking the African bush, an indoor and outdoor shower, a central fireplace and a private wooden deck.

The food is sumptuous and can be enjoyed in the main dining room, over a private dinner or under the stars in the lodge Boma. Prior to your afternoon game drive you can enjoy a high tea on the deck whilst watching the buffalo that sometimes come to the water hole to drink in the heat of the afternoon. There is also an inviting pool to cool you down during the heat of an African day.
