Mwamba Bushcamp is a tiny camp beside the seasonal Mwamba River providing an opportunity for those of a more adventurous spirit to explore the Luangwa's heartland. The Mwamba is a tributary of the Luangwa River and the camp enjoys shady views of perennial waterholes.

There are three reed and thatch chalets under sausage trees, uniquely designed with large skylights allowing you to experience sleeping under the stars. They are simple but delightful with double or twin beds, reed mats on the floors and open-air en suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. Meals are eaten in the bush-style dining/bar area or "chitenge" which is set under the deep shade of huge ebony trees. A spectacular sunset viewing-point on top of a large termite mound and a glowing campfire under the stars completes the camp's friendly and personal atmosphere.

The focus at Mwamba is on walking safaris, with gentle morning and evening rambles led by professional guides, however game drives are also available at the camp. The game around Mwamba is excellent; large herds of buffalo, eland and Cookson's wildebeest are followed by the extensive "Mwamba pride", which contributes to the fifty-odd lion in the area. Good leopard sightings are also common due to the large numbers of impala and puku, and are often seen strolling along the opposite river bank. Elephant use the Mwamba's waterholes regularly and there is a large female with her sub-adult son and juvenile daughter who frequents the camp.
