Amanoi

Nha Trang, Vietnam

Amanoi offers contemporary accommodation, in a quiet coastal region in Vietnam, creating a luxurious hideaway for wellness and relaxation. Its peaceful coastal setting, nestled within the mountainous Nui Chua National Park, is a sanctuary for romance, relaxation, well-being and active pursuits.

Amanoi or 'peaceful place' is set on a cliffside overlooking Vinh Hy Bay and the East Sea. Below the resort is its private stretch of white sand and beach club. Arriving at the central pavilion in the heart of the property, the panoramic views make a wonderful first impression.

The central pavilion is home to the restaurant (indoor and outdoor dining), bar and sun terrace. The Amanoi boutique, and library, with extensive reading materials, board games and music collection, are adjacent to the central pavilion. Service, as at all Aman properties, is faultless.

With just 31 pavilions and five Aman villas, the atmosphere in the resort is calm and quiet, with guests enjoying the seclusion of their pavilion. Set on expansive grounds, guests travel between pavilions, the spa area and the beach on chauffeured buggies. These are readily available on demand.

The cliff swimming pool is located close to the central pavilion, whilst the beachfront pool overlooks the sandy bay. Dining at the central pavilion is superb, with the beachfront restaurant offering a more relaxed option.

OUR OPINION:

Amanoi offers a peaceful retreat on a stunning stretch of coastline. World-class accommodation is paired with fine dining and discreet service, to make this one of the top coastal hotel choices in Southeast Asia.

Rooms

Amanoi pavilions are located to take advantage of the spectacular views to the sea, and surrounding hillsides and central lake. The 31 freestanding pavilions are a fusion of traditional Vietnamese architecture, with modern comforts. In contrast to many of Aman Resort’s other properties, pavilions at Amanoi also include televisions.

Pavilions are dotted over the hillside, and travel to the lobby area, dining options, beach, spa and fitness facilities will be by chauffeured golf buggy, available on demand. There is wireless broadband connection throughout the resort accommodations and public areas.

All room types have air-conditioning, hair dryer, minibar, coffee maker, iPod dock and television.

Location

Located within Ninh Thuan Province, Amanoi sits upon the coast of Vinh Hy Bay. Although located just 55 kilometres south of Cam Ranh airport, this quiet stretch of coast offers guests a peaceful retreat, as well as one of the warmest and driest sections of coastline in Vietnam year round.

Nestled between the Nui Chua National Park, and the Vinh Hy sea conservation area, this mountainous region offers stunning views as the hillside gives way to sandy beaches, and boulder-strewn coastline hugging the east sea.

The resort is remote, and although it can arrange picnics in the national park, and along the coast, you will dine in the resort throughout your stay.

Food and drink

The restaurant, located in the central pavilion, offers the only air-conditioned dining option (aside from in-room dining), as well as alfresco dining, in the central pavilion and sun terrace.

The restaurant here is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu features a mix of international and Vietnamese cuisine. Adjacent to the main restaurant is the Lounge Bar. Picnic lunches can be arranged to be enjoyed within the national park.

The Beach Club offers a menu of Vietnamese and international dishes for lunch and dinner. Private dining is available in the suites 24 hours a day.

Families

This is more of a couples' resort in the main, with no connecting rooms available. However, the Aman Villas offer luxurious accommodation for large groups, and families.

Facilities and activities

The Beach Club is located on Vinh Hy Beach, a journey of 10 to 15 minutes by buggy from the central and guest pavilions. On the beachfront is the hotel’s 42-metre (137-foot) swimming pool, with the Beach Club dining pavilion directly behind.

Kayaks and Hobie Cats are located at the Beach Club, and guests can also snorkel off the beach here. Amanoi staff recommend kayaking around the southern headland, to enjoy one of the best snorkelling spots.

Amanoi staff will assist guests with water sports, and provide lessons or sailing partners if required. There are loungers on the beach for guest use and drinks and light meals can be enjoyed here.

Aside from the Beach Club pool, Amanoi features a smaller clifftop pool, where you can relax and enjoy the views from the comfort of a lounger. Drinks and snacks can be served at the cliff pool.

Two tennis courts are located at the entrance to the property; tennis partners can be arranged. The yoga pavilion occupies a picturesque spot on the lake, and private tuition can be arranged.

Amanoi also has a dedicated Pilates studio with a range of Pilates equipment; private tuition can be arranged. Adjacent to the Pilates studio is the Amanoi gymnasium, which is outfitted with the latest equipment.

It is the region’s natural beauty that is the real attraction here, and Amanoi can arrange guided treks and picnics to explore the Nui Chua National Park. Covering an area of 290 sq km (111 sq miles), the national park ranges from sea level to the peak of Nui Chua at 1,039 m (3,408 ft), meaning that it is home to a variety of ecosystems and diverse flora.

The Vinh Hy sea conservation area offers great snorkelling opportunities, and the rocky outcrops in this region ensure calm, clear waters. Scuba diving can be arranged locally.

The library has an extensive collection of reading material, music and board games, and the adjacent boutique has a generous selection of traditional Vietnamese lacquerware, handmade jewellery, local crafts and resort apparel.

Wi-Fi connection is available in all suites and public areas.

Spa Facilities

The spa at Amanoi sits in the heart of the property, overlooking the lotus lake. The spa and wellness activities here are very much at the heart of the experience at Amanoi. The spa features five double treatment rooms, with double bathtubs, private dressing areas and showers, two hydrotherapy suites, hand and foot therapy rooms, and a hair and beauty salon. The spa also features a number of relaxation lounges, with lake views, for spa guests to relax pre- and post-treatment.

The extensive spa menu includes body treatments, scrubs, wraps, facials and hair care, using Aman Spa’s all natural signature product range.
