"Tena Tena Camp... is altogether beyond superlatives, and must be one of the best safari camps in the whole of Africa", The Times, London.

Tena Tena is a remote and small camp that lies within the national park and enjoys a stunning location on a wide bend of the Luangwa River. The camp is set under a grove of mahogany trees and guests can sit in the shade and watch elephant, hippo and antelope on the far river banks in front of them. There are five safari tents that are as spacious as they are stylish. Each has double or twin beds, rich rugs, beautiful carved wooden furniture, a small dressing room and en suite bathroom. The bathroom is open air and has hot showers, WC and basin. It's not unusual to find the odd friendly tree frog sitting beside your soap! A small way from the tents there's a lovely open sided dining room and bar. Meals are sociable affairs with sumptuous meals served by candlelight. The camp offers morning, evening and night game drives and walking safaris accompanied by guides and armed scouts.

If you are interested in responsible tourism, it is possible to arrange a visit to one of the projects that Project Luangwa, which Robin Pope Safaris work closely with, as part of your safari. These include schools which have been built, tree planting, and a new library. This needs to be pre-arranged and requires a donation toward the project, and is a wonderfully enriching experience.
