El Chaltén is a small town that now acts as a base for the climbing and hiking visitors to the Fitzroy Massif.
The town has a relaxed and friendly feel, although can be expensive given that it is so geared to tourism. However it has an interesting mix of architectural styles and a fabulous setting.
