A tiny village with an incredible setting right at the foot of the famous Hill of Seven Colours, Purmamarca is a charmingly sleepy little place with a daily handicrafts fair in the square, which has a smattering of cafés and shops around it.

Purmamarca, Argentina The whitewashed adobe church, Iglesia de Santa Rosa, is beautiful, and entirely typical of the area, with a 500 year old tree outside it, and with its one excellent hotel, Purmamarca is the ideal place to stay while exploring the Humahuaca Gorge.
