I caught the travel bug from my sister, when she returned from a world trip. I ran to her suitcase, firstly for presents, but also to hear about her adventures. My desire to travel grew as a got older. Even choosing a US college was travel based. It allowed me to see the glitter and sparkle of Europe at Christmas, experience the lush forests of South America and feel the tropical breezes of the Caribbean.
My path led me into teaching, but I still yearned to travel the world. My trips back home took me to the extreme landscapes of Western Australia, the lush, tropical coastline of Queensland, the rugged, untouched beauty of Tasmania and the cosmopolitan, coasts of New South Wales.
I love travelling the world, but my heart will always be in Australia. I’m excited to help others experience the wonders of my homeland.

What’s your most vivid travel moment?
My first real travel memory is as a kid stopping on the Great Australian Bight, while driving across Australia with my family. The distances surrounding me were breathtaking. I stood there looking down on the massive, rugged cliffs with the waves crashing below. I stared at the Southern Ocean stretching uninterrupted towards Antarctica. Behind me were the reds and browns of the never-ending Nullarbor Plain. I felt small and vulnerable standing on that cliff but amazed at the grandeur. The world felt endless and part of me wanted to see what was out there for myself.
Where would you love to travel next?
Antarctica has always amazed and astounded me. It’s a breathtaking destination offering beauty and adventure combined within a pristine environment. Its towering icebergs, surreal ice formations, vast glaciers and unique wildlife make it feel like one of the last frontiers of travel.
Which book, film or artwork captures Australia the most?
Dorothea Mackellar’s poem ‘My Country’ captures the essence of Australia through vivid imagery and heartfelt emotions. It contrasts the harsh arid landscapes of the Outback, the lush beauty of the coastal regions and the vast golden plains under endless skies. Within the poem I feel the connection that resonates with many Australians, which serves as a celebration of their affection for their homeland, and the qualities that define the Australian spirit and landscape.
