Australia Specialist

Growing up with family scattered across Europe and the Caribbean sparked an unwavering passion for travel, inspiring me to explore 48 countries and counting in the last six years.

Having spent a considerable amount of my childhood in Bermuda, I never imagined finding paradise quite like it, until I first ventured to Australia’s East Coast in 2018. I spent some time on Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef, an island hailed by David Attenborough as “one of the most magical places on Earth”. Highlights of my trip included watching the baby turtle hatchlings emerging from their nests on Heron Island, and snorkeling alongside green turtles and humphead wrasse fish in the Whitsundays.

Returning from Australia with Audley, I have gained a deeper understanding of the country and am eager to share my love of Australia with those who wish to see and experience all that it has to offer.

Q&A with Charlotte

Twelve Apostles, Great Ocean Road

What’s the one thing you always pack?

A portable charger. I find it extremely useful to have one in the event of emergencies and also for my phone/camera. As a keen photographer, I want to make sure I can capture everything at all times.

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Where would you love to travel next?

Raja Ampat, an off-the-grid archipelago in Indonesia’s West Papua province has been top of my list for a while, known for its world-class diving, crystal-clear waters, and white-sand beaches.

Melbourne city and Yarra River

Your best piece of travel advice?

Australia’s weather is famously unpredictable and can change rapidly. A clear sky can quickly turn into a thunderstorm and vice versa. It’s not uncommon to experience several seasons in a single day, particularly in Melbourne, Victoria. If you keep this in mind and maintain a flexible mindset you can make the most of your travels, embracing Australia’s incredible landscapes, regardless of the weather. Saying this, make sure to pack suitable clothing including lightweight and warm clothing, as well as waterproofs as each region offers its own unique climate from tropical in the north to temperate in the south.
