After an early breakfast you will be taken to visit the home of Mr Florencio Mes, a Kek'chi Mayan harpist and instrument maker. You will visit his workshop, hear him play and enjoy a hands-on tour of his kitchen garden, where many aromatic and physically-beneficial plants and herbs are grown.
You will then travel to the Lubaantun Maya site where the famous Crystal Skull was discovered in 1926. The site is also known for its rounded masonry corners, which are architecturally unique in the Mayan world, and the clay whistles (ocarinas) that have been discovered there.
The trip to Lubaantun is followed by a visit to Rio Blanco National Park for lunch and a swim beneath the beautiful waterfall. Here, you will be able to explore and learn about the natural history of the riverside with a local Mayan guide.
