Cassey

Italy Specialist

Growing up, I frequently traveled within the United States for sports, which (at the time) satisfied my desire for travel. However, my curiosity quickly grew beyond national borders.

When I went to college, I chose to major in International Studies to pursue my desire to learn and see the world. This academic discipline provided a comprehensive understanding of global affairs, world history, geography, politics, religion, languages, and anthropology. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to travel and pursue a career that allows me to share my passion with others.

Since then, out of all the destinations I’ve had the privilege of visiting, Italy holds a special place in my heart. Each time I visit, its history, culture, and geography never fail to impress me. Sharing my love for Italy brings me so much joy, and I love building connections with others who are also charmed by its beauty.

Q&A with Cassey

Cassey relaxing in Florence, Italy

What's your best piece of travel advice?

It’s important to know who you are as a traveler. Do you prefer leisure or constant activity? Italy has so much to offer, it can be easy to get caught up in all the activities you want to do and the sights you want to see. Most Italian cities are walkable, and all those steps can catch up to you. I recommend adding in time for some leisure when visiting. Traveling is no fun when you're exhausted the entire trip, so give yourself time to recharge amid all the activity.

Positano, Amalfi Coast

What's your most vivid travel moment?

The first time I went to Positano. I spontaneously booked a boat tour to spend the day snorkeling, and to this day it’s not only one of my most vivid travel moments but one of my favorite memories. We spent the day boating, swimming around the Amalfi Coast, and sipping on limoncello. It felt surreal soaking in the sun with the ocean water, and the beautiful views the coast has to offer. It was truly a perfect day, and I would relive it a thousand times if I could.

Where would you love to travel next?

Recently I’ve been drawn to New Zealand. I’ve heard incredible things about the landscapes there. As someone who grew up in the Rocky Mountains, I’m always looking for new mountain regions to explore, and New Zealand is on my bucket list. Roy’s Peak, Milford Sound, and (of course) the Hobbiton movie set from the Lord of the Rings franchise are all places I’m dying to see.
