Named after the original owner, French poet Lucie Delarue-Mardrus, La Maison de Lucie is an elegant retreat in central Honfleur. It boasts a chic bar, reading room and petit salon complete with a fireplace, spiral staircase and impressive library.

Rooms are light and airy and decorated with antique chests, taffeta drapes and fresh orchids. Each morning begins with a breakfast of fresh fruits, meats, cheeses and other homemade treats and although there isn’t a restaurant, the courtyard is a pleasant refuge for an evening drink and there are countless bistros just a five-minute walk away. For relaxation, there's a hot tub in the vaulted cellar.

Wonderfully chic, yet intimate and historic, La Maison de Lucie is one of our preferred hotels in Honfleur. Tucked away up a little cobbled side street, it is within walking distance of the main square while still exuding peace and quiet.

Rooms at La Maison de Lucie are individually decorated in a chic and elegant style with subtle hints of Moroccan and Japanese influence while retaining plenty of the original character of the building. All have a flat-screen television and complimentary Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are bright and airy and look out into the garden area or over the old town. Most include a shower over the bath. Suites feature special amenities like private staircase entrances or a fireplace.

Location

La Maison de Lucie is on a quiet cobbled street off the main square, behind Saint-Catherine’s Church. Though tucked away, the port is less than a ten-minute walk away, as is the Rue de la Prison (prison alley), which dates back to the Middle Ages. Nearby, are plenty of shops, restaurants and the Eugène Boudin museum, which celebrates the work of the 19th-century painter.

Every morning at La Maison de Lucie starts with a hearty breakfast made with fresh charcuterie, local cheese and seasonal fruit. Although there is no restaurant at the hotel, it's less than a five-minute walk from dozens of bistros, brasseries and fine-dining options.
