Your private guide will wait to meet you at Keflavík Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Iceland’s south coast region. En route, you’ll explore the Reykjanes Peninsula, a wild, craggy landscape dotted with mossy lava fields, bubbling mud pools, volcanic craters and vibrant lakes. Tonight, you’ll stay in a remote location on Iceland’s south coast — a prime spot for seeing the northern lights.
-
Your focus today is Iceland’s celebrated south coast region. With your guide, you’ll see thundering waterfalls, including Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, as well as Reynisfjara's black sand beach. As you travel, the ice-capped volcanoes of Eyjafjallajökull and Hekla loom to the north. This afternoon, don crampons and join a small-group tour of the Sólheimajökull glacier. Return to your hotel, where you’ll have another opportunity to see the northern lights this evening.
-
Travel with your guide to the rolling landscape of the Golden Circle: you’ll take in highlights, including the tectonic divide in Þingvellir National Park, erupting geysers at Geysir, and feel the spray at Gullfoss Falls. You’ll also escape the crowds at some of the Golden Circle’s lesser-known sights. At the end of the day, check into your hotel in central Reykjavík.
-
Uncover Iceland’s capital on a privately guided tour with a local. Highlights include the brightly painted buildings of Laugavegur and the Old Harbour, the soaring Hallgrímskirkja cathedral and the glass-clad Harpa concert hall. Later, set off on a shared Superjeep tour into the Icelandic countryside to track down a prime spot for viewing the northern lights. In a Superjeep, you can head off the beaten tracks and away from any light pollution.
-
This morning, embark on an Icelandic cooking class with a small group. Run by a husband-and-wife team, you'll learn how to cook some traditional Icelandic dishes while hearing how they relate to the Icelandic sagas. The afternoon is at leisure in the city.
-
Bid farewell to Iceland as you are privately transferred back to Keflavík Airport. En route, you’ll stop at the Blue Lagoon and soak in its milky, mineral-rich waters. A drink at the lagoon bar and a silica mud mask are included in your package.
