Borgo Egnazia

Borgo Egnazia

Fasano, Italy

Borgo Egnazia is renowned throughout Puglia as one of the top hotels in the region, and it holds this illustrious reputation with good reason. The property has managed to achieve an excellent selection of activities and facilities which cater to all ages and interests, while also maintaining a peaceful ambiance throughout the grounds which allows for total relaxation and escape. Even with 185 rooms, Borgo Egnazia manages to maintain the intimate feel of a small Pugliese village with the help of a well-planned layout and the exceptional staff and service. Each room even has a member of staff assigned to it specifically, so guests feel like they have their own personal concierge.

Rooms are located in two areas of the hotel — Il Borgo, constructed to resemble a small village complete with main square, and La Corte, the main building. Beyond these central areas, 28 exclusive private villas cater to those seeking the utmost luxury. All rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with plush furnishings and calming neutral hues. However with the plethora of activities available, it’s unlikely that guests will spend much time in the room at all. Four pools offer plenty of options for a swim, and the private sandy beach is just a short shuttle ride away. There are a number of activities that cater specifically to children and families as well as a golf course, tennis, water sports, cooking classes and a spectacular spa.

OUR OPINION:

We’ve found Borgo Egnazia to be one of the top properties in the region thanks to the exceptional level of service and endless list of activities all housed within beautiful rooms and grounds right next to the beach.

The 185 rooms of Borgo Egnazia are located in two different area of the hotel — Il Borgo, constructed to resemble a traditional little village, and La Corte, the main building.

Close to La Corte, 28 luxurious private villas cater to those looking for an indulgent experience and space to sleep upward of eight guests in some cases.

The decor in all rooms follows a tasteful Pugliese style of ivory and cream tones. Sumptuous features abound, including soft, plush sofa, piles of pillows on beds, and elegant draped fabrics. All rooms are spacious and outfitted with all the modern amenities one would expect from a five star property.

Location

Borgo Egnazia is set between the towns of Bari and Brindisi just slightly inland from the sea. The property is surrounded by its own golf course and pretty Pugliese countryside. Views over the sea in front of the property remind guests that beaches are just a short shuttle ride away. Those looking to explore beyond the grounds can visit the former fishing village of Savelletri, less than a ten-minute drive away. Here you will find a selection of local restaurants.

Food and drink

With six restaurants located throughout the property, including one that caters specifically to kids, Borgo Egnazia manages to cater to the tastes and preference of each guest. Options range from the fine dining restaurant, Due Camini, to the relaxed La Frasca, with sunny alfresco seating. One of the highlights is Pescharia da Vinto where guests choose their own seafood, have it weighed market-style and cooked fresh for a delicious and memorable meal. There are also three bars at the property — one chic indoor lounge and two pool-side bars.

Families

Borgo Egnazia is an ideal option for families. Two different kids’ clubs run throughout the day — one for younger children and one catering to teens. There’s a kids' pool and even a restaurant catering specifically to children with pint-sized tables and chairs. There are even little cars to help children navigate the large grounds of the property.

Facilities and activities

For guests looking to stay active, activities include, water sports, tennis, complimentary bike rentals, a large gym, and even the hotel’s own golf course. A spacious spa offers a full menu of treatments and cooking schools can be arranged in one of the restaurants.
