Set among acres of farmland just outside Agrigento, the charming Fontes Episcopi agriturismo is an organic working farm which offers an intimate, welcoming experience.

The main house sits at the top of a tree-lined driveway while the property itself is surrounded by pretty gardens. As well as a large open-air courtyard there are some small salons in which to relax, a large dining room and a lovely country kitchen.

OUR OPINION:

Staying at the Fontes Episcopi is perfect if you want to live the Sicilian way of life, and get in touch with nature, while enjoying what Sicily has to offer.

Rooms

Fontes Episcopi has just seven guest rooms, each named after a fruit or food product produced on the farm. All boast beautiful views of either the unspoiled countryside or the peaceful inner courtyard and a selection also have their own private terrace. In addition to modern comforts like private bathroom, air conditioning, TV, and Wi-Fi, the rooms feature homemade touches, such as soap and shampoo made on the farm.

Fontes Episcopi is located in Aragona, a tranquil area of rural Sicily, close to the Macalube Nature Reserve, Agrigento, and the Valley of the Temples.

  • This is a working farm and all food products are made on site.
  • Breakfast is made by a local Sicilian mama who knows what’s needed to prepare you for the day ahead.
  • Dinner is also prepared by La mama offering a Mediterranean menu with locally sourced ingredients normally from the farm.
  • Organic Sicilian wine list with a wide selection of locally produced wines.
  • Bar and drinks service, by the pool or in the shared lounge area.
