Kurokawa Visit

The main reason to come to Kurokawa is to unwind and enjoy the geothermal hot springs (onsen) that spill from the surrounding volcanoes. The village is only small, but Kurokawa offers some of the top onsen in Japan and is well known throughout the country.

Spend the day simply wandering the street and trying out the various onsen — some have baths that sit beside the stream, others are hidden in caves in the hillsides.

This really is the authentic Japanese experience and the pace of life here is leisurely so there is no need to hurry anywhere.
