Offbeat Mara Camp is a luxury tented camp situated on the Olare Orok water system, on the Mara North Conservancy, north of the Masai Mara National Reserve. This area is full of wildlife but has limited numbers of safari camps to ensure an unspoilt safari experience. Offbeat Mara Camp works with the local Maasai community and employs many in the camp staff. The camp is tucked into a grove of trees and comprises six large tents, all with en suite buckets showers, wash basin and flush loos. The tents are beautifully finished with cedar wood beds, lanterns and the finest linen. There are also two family tents which have a double and two single beds, and a shared bathroom.

There is a large living room under canvas complete with bar, library, comfy sofas and writing table. The dining tent has a beautiful table capable of sitting up to 16 people — dinners can therefore be lively and sociable affairs. Activities from Offbeat Mara Camp include game-drives in open sided vehicles, bush breakfasts and visits to the local Maasai manyattas.

Watch out for the giraffe hiding in the trees, antelope on the plains and roosting birds. As the sun comes up the views are superb — one of the most beautiful sights in Africa.
