This property has three two-bedroom villas that are near the vibrant blue waters of Lake Pukaki. The self-contained villas have two super split king beds, a central dining room and kitchen, and a large open sitting area that looks over a fireplace.

Location

Mount Cook Lakeside Retreat is situated just 45 minutes’ drive from Mount Cook Village and 15 minutes’ drive from the village of Twizel. The property is an ideal base for exploring the Mackenzie Basin, including Mount Cook, Twizel and Tekapo. We can easily arrange for you to be picked up from the property by helicopter for glacier flights and heli-hikes in the area.

Food and drink

Dinner and breakfast are included in your stay by your own private chef, who creates dishes using the on-site herb and produce garden. Canapés and welcome drinks are on offer in the evening. Luke the owner can also provide you with a wine tasting from his personal cellar and unadulterated views of the night sky with a personal astronomy evening using a state-of-the-art telescope.

Honeymooners

The Ashley Mackenzie Villa is perfect of honeymooners. It offers spectacular views to the lake and mountains, exclusive use of the Fantail spa with sauna, massage, gym, and an outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake and mountains.

Facilities and activities

The lodge is located in the Aoraki International Dark Sky Reserve and guests can enjoy unadulterated views of the night sky with a personal astronomy evening using a state-of-the-art telescope.

Additionally, the light-filled spa, which is open to the lake and mountains, has a sauna, outdoor hot tub, workout room and massage room.
