&Beyond Ngala Tented Camp

The Ngala concession, managed by &Beyond, shares an unfenced border with the Kruger Park, including a large wilderness area where there is never any human intrusion: this makes for exciting game viewing as animals are coming and going across the concession all the time, including some which have never before had contact with humans.

The Tented Camp is located in the south of the reserve, only minutes from the Orpen Gate to the park. However it still feels amazingly remote, looking out over the wide sand bed of the now-dry Timbavati River, used by all game as a highway. Buffalo and many species of antelope are often seen from, and within, the lodge grounds and the elephant only kept out by an elephant fence. Leopard have also been seen quite often on the river banks.

The dining and lounge areas look straight out over the Timbavati, and the comfortable, modern sofas and chairs are all under canvas as are all six rooms. With huge beds, stone sinks, a bath and an outside shower, the rooms are a magnificent place to stay, a real "out of Africa experience". The staff at the lodge are probably its greatest asset: knowledgeable, attentive and friendly, they will ensure your stay is memorable.
