Born from one man’s dream to have a hotel in the heart of the beautiful Strathearn countryside, Gleneagles is the epitome of all things luxury. Its 232 rooms and 26 suites are all impeccably furnished, and the hotel’s extensive facilities feature a large spa and leisure complex.

Two world-class golf courses and fishing, shooting, riding, walking and falconry activities are all available within the hotel’s grounds. Dining options are equally varied, with three restaurants in the main hotel including the two Michelin-starred Andrew Fairlie. Additionally, The Dormy Clubhouse in the grounds serves an all-day menu, and bar snacks or meals are available at several of the hotel’s different bars.

Rooms

Each room or suite is individually designed, but all feature bright, elegant decor. Room categories vary by size and outlook, with family, classic and selected sovereign rooms overlooking the hotel. Other sovereign rooms, along with the estate rooms and all the suites look out over the grounds. The inner-view sovereign rooms are slightly larger than those with views of the grounds. All rooms benefit from complimentary Wi-Fi.

Location

Situated in the midst of the splendid Strathearn countryside, almost equidistant between the city of Perth to the east and the Trossachs mountain range to the west, Gleneagles is easily accessible from all major Scottish cities. It takes around 50 minutes to an hour to drive to Gleneagles from either Edinburgh or Glasgow Airport.

Food and drink

Gleneagles has four restaurants: The Strathearn serves breakfast and a fine-dining menu in the evening; Andrew Fairlie is a two Michelin-starred restaurant offering sumptuous Scottish/French fusion food with a taster and an à la carte menu; Deseo is more relaxed, serving Mediterranean cuisine; while The Dormy Clubhouse offers a casual all-day menu. There are also three bars, a coffee house and the option of afternoon tea in the Glendevon Room.

Facilities and activities

Gleneagles has a large range of activities on offer within its grounds, including golf, shooting, falconry, off-road driving, fishing, Segway tours, horse riding and tennis. You can also hire road bikes, learn how to train working gun dogs, or embark on a wildlife photography outing with a professional photographer. The hotel also has extensive spa and leisure facilities, including two swimming pools, a hair salon and a nail salon.
