Wynn Las Vegas

Wynn Las Vegas

Las Vegas, The US

The pinnacle of luxury hotel and destination casino entertainment, Wynn is a stand-out property on the Las Vegas Strip. It is an all suite property set in a curving, copper-toned high rise building. The scale of the resort is vast, and along with its sister property, Encore, next door, it offers extensive amenities, facilities and dining experiences.

The decor is sumptuous and almost fairy-tale in scale with everything done in lavish style with marble floors inlaid with floral mosaics, oversized displays of fresh flowers, enormous hanging lanterns and chandeliers, and plenty of gilded finishes. The rooms are more subdued but still indulgent with plush furnishings and a classically elegant style matched by high-tech amenities. Celebrities and high rollers often choose the exclusive Tower Suites for additional privacy and facilities such as Rolls-Royce house cars.

The wide choice of dining options covers cuisine from around the globe from fine dining to casual lunches. Choose from Michelin-starred Chinese, excellent steaks at SW, fresh seafood or vegan dishes. Look out over the Lake of Dreams where light and water displays are shown every evening, attend a top-class performance or play a round on the adjacent golf course, the only one on the Strip.

OUR OPINION:

An all suite hotel where the 'basic' rooms are anything but, Wynn Las Vegas offers an indulgent stay with huge comfy beds, floor-to-ceiling windows and lavish bathrooms overlooking Las Vegas to the desert beyond.

Rooms

Classically refined and meticulously finished, the rooms at the Wynn Las Vegas ooze understated sophistication. Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the rooms in natural light and the pale, neutral decor, white leather sofas and tasteful artwork in gilt-edged frames creates an indulgent atmosphere. The spacious bathrooms feature over-sized marble baths, separate showers and small TVs, while each room has a large-screen TV, an Amazon Echo to control lighting, complimentary Wi-Fi and touch-screen curtains. The exclusive Tower Suites, popular with visiting celebrities and the very wealthy, have a separate entrance, Rolls-Royce house cars, and a private pool.

Location

The Wynn is located at the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip opposite the Fashion Show Mall which houses Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's and many more upmarket stores. Its sister resort, Encore, is next door and guests have access to many of the facilities there. Buses stop directly outside the door is you would prefer not to walk the 20 minutes south to the central Las Vegas attractions.

Food and drink

Like most large Las Vegas resorts, the choice of dining at the Wynn is impressive but here, everything is done with incredible attention to detail from the food itself to the decor, service and experience. It can be difficult to know where to dine with so many options on offer and cuisine that spans the globe and encompasses fine dining, casual meals and vegan offerings. The hotel's buffet offering is known as one of the finest in the city and Wing Lei was the first Chinese restaurant in the country to be awarded a Michelin star. Lakeside is a popular seafood restaurant and we would also recommend SW which serves excellent steaks. The restaurant's outdoor patio has great views of the Lake of Dreams where light and water displays are shown every evening.

Families

The hotel's two glittering performance spaces and three nightclubs attract big-name shows and DJs throughout the year. Guests can also make use of the opulent spa, swim in a variety of heated pools, laze in the immaculate gardens or play a round at the adjacent Wynn golf course, the only golf course on the Las Vegas Strip. While here you can also take a master class with florists, bakers, chefs and sommeliers and The Wynn and Encore Esplanades offer designer shops on the doorstep.
