Rooms

The entry level Fairmont queen rooms are located on the lower floors of the hotel and are interior facing. The next category is the Fairmont exterior rooms, which while still located on lower floors, have views out over the city. The deluxe rooms are located in the newer ‘Tower’ of the hotel which is a more contemporary building and was built to maximize the stunning views from the top of Nob Hill over the cityscape. The signature rooms are also in the tower building but face out over San Francisco Bay with views of Alcatraz and Coit Tower.

All of the rooms are light and feature a palette of neutral tones, with splashes of vibrancy provided in the accessories and textiles. Each of the 606 rooms and suites offer a flat-screen television, coffee maker, tea kettles and bathrobes.

Location

Conveniently located on Nob Hill in San Francisco, the Fairmont San Francisco is just a short walk to San Francisco's cable car lines that provides access to Union Square, the Financial District, Chinatown and on to Fisherman's Wharf.

The hotel is also just steps away from a variety of shops, bars and restaurants in the Nob Hill neighborhood.

Food and drink

The Laurel Court restaurant showcases seasonal menus that feature locally sourced, organic ingredients from sustainable sources. It is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

A visit to San Francisco is not complete without experiencing the Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar. Renown as being 'San Francisco's Best Happy Hour', the Tonga Room offers Pacific Rim Asian Cuisine in a tropical setting that includes thunder and rain storms. It's open for drinks and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday.

Caffé Cento offers a selection of teas, fresh pastries, breakfast and lunch items.

Families

Connecting rooms, cribs and roll away beds can be requested, along with children’s bathrobes, high chairs, play pens and children's shampoo and soaps. There is also a children’s menu at the Laurel Court restaurant.

Facilities and activities

The Live Fit Gym & Wellness Spa (fee payable locally) features state-of-the-art TRX, Life Fitness, and Precor cardio and strength training equipment. Daily classes include Pilates, yoga and cardio. Spa treatments including facials and massages can be made by appointment.

Environmental and social responsibility

In 2010, the hotel installed honey beehives in the hotel’s vegetable and herb garden to support the dwindling bee population. Today, the hotel has nine rooftop beehives and features home-harvested honey in several dishes and its Honey Beer Series.
