The Ritz-Carlton Montréal

The Ritz-Carlton Montréal

Montréal, Canada

The Ritz-Carlton Montréal is the jewel in the crown of the city’s hotels, where luxury and comfort come together to offer a truly grand stay. From the street, the hotel retains its impressive frontage, with its bellman standing guard ready to assist at a moment’s notice.

The Ritz is home to Montréal’s original afternoon tea, still served over two sittings in the stylish lobby, the Palm Court. Here nothing is left to chance, and this is reflected in the lavish, traditional décor, smartly complemented by modern amenities.

OUR OPINION:

We love the attention to detail at this mid-sized hotel. The mix of old glamour and modern technology makes the Ritz-Carlton one of our preferred places to stay in Montréal.

Rooms

The state-of-the-art deluxe and signature rooms overlook the city or the property's gardens. Each is equipped with motion sensors to activate the lights and the heating system stores each guest’s temperature preferences. There's also a pillow menu to help you sleep more easily. The marble en suite bathrooms have heated floors and are well-appointed with rainforest shower heads, separate baths and exclusive Asprey toiletries.

While deluxe rooms come with one large double bed, signature rooms also have the option of two smaller double beds. There are also a number of suites that vary in size and style to suit those needing more space. Some can be connected to other guest rooms to accommodate groups of friends or families, and rollaway beds are available on request.

Location

Close to Montréal’s McGill University, and a short walk to main shopping district, the Ritz-Carlton is an excellent base from which to explore the city. While the streets outside may be crowded, the hotel’s ambience remains serene. The Ritz-Carlton is well located for public transport, with the subway and bus stops close by (ideal in the freezing winter months), and staff at the hotel will also be pleased to arrange taxis or private cars if preferred. The property is also within walking distance of many of Montréal's highlights, including Mont-Royal and the Notre-Dame Basilica.

Food and drink

As expected, the hotel boasts top-flight dining and drinking options, with a Dom Pérignon Champagne Bar located in the decadent lobby. Popular French restaurant Maison Boulud offers an exciting open kitchen experience, private dining rooms and outdoor seating year-round in the greenhouse. We recommend making reservations up to two months in advance if you'd like to dine in the restaurant. There's a separate room service menu, created exclusively for guests of the hotel, which offers an extensive selection of fine foods and more casual options.

Families

The hotel will happily accommodate younger children, with extra beds and cots available in the signature rooms, and a children's menu available through room service. Interconnecting rooms are also a good option for larger families.

Facilities and activities

Facilities at the Ritz-Carlton include a well-equipped fitness centre, and an indoor rooftop saltwater pool, which is heated by energy reclaimed from the kitchens. The rooftop also boasts a sauna, a terrace with skyline views and a lounge offering a snack menu. The Spa Saint James offers a wide range of treatments, with a featured highlight being the hot stone therapy.

Accessibility

The hotel is accessible throughout, including a series of disabled access guest rooms, and service animals are welcome.
