Visit Dali, China

The ancient Bai minority capital of Dali lies on a fertile plain between the Diancang Mountains and beautiful Erhai Lake. It is a small city, making it easy for visitors to explore on foot.

The city has preserved cobbled streets and traditional stone architecture, and though the main street is now filled with tourist shops, a wander down the backstreets reveals more of the original character. Many visitors make their way to “Yangren Jie” (Foreigners Road) where good food and entertainment can be found.

The city enjoys a mild spring-like climate throughout the year, presenting graceful and scenic views around the town. In general, Dali is a relaxed little town and, like much of Yunnan Province, is a wonderful destination for travellers wishing to see a quieter style of Chinese living.
