Itinerary idea
Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
-
Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to San José & Central Valley. When you arrive in San José, you will be met and driven to your hotel in the capital city. Depending on the time of your flight, there may be time for exploration.
-
The adventure starts today as you are collected from your hotel and driven east out of the city to the Pacuare River. Here, you will change into wet weather gear, and your guides will brief you ahead of the rafting trip that will take you over white water and through gorges to the jungle lodge.
-
While you are staying at Pacuare Lodge there will be a range of activities on offer so you can be as active (or not) as you want. For the more culturally minded you can also visit the local Cabecar Indians.
-
Leaving the lodge, you will board the rafts again and head downstream through class III and IV rapids, stopping for lunch and visiting waterfalls on the way. At the end of the rafting, you will be met and driven across the country to your hotel near the Arenal Volcano.
-
Arenal is home to a vast array of activities to suit almost any taste. We've included a day exploring the canopy of the forest by sky tram, trek and zip-line.
-
Travelling by road your driver will take you around Lake Arenal and the volcano before heading out to the Pacific coast. Landing at the beach you will settle into your hotel on the sand.
-
Like much of Costa Rica you can be as busy as you like here. We've included a horse back ride to get you started, but you can do almost anything from surfing lessons, quad biking, zip-lining, trekking, cycling, deep sea fishing or wildlife treks.
-
Time to explore (or relax).
-
Your driver will collect you this morning and take you to San José Airport for the start of your journey home.
-
Arrive home today to complete your journey.
