Housed in a building dating back to 1892, this intimate boutique hotel in the Adriatic city of Rovinj features high ceilings, original period decor, and an eclectic design scheme that’s modern yet in keeping with the property’s history. All of the 18 individually styled and sophisticated rooms assure views of Katarina Island on one side or Rovinj’s main square, old town, and rooftops on the other. Each has white walls, charcoal grey furniture, and paintings or photographs commissioned by contemporary artists. Amenities include comfortable beds with high thread count linens, flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, and bathrooms with black and white tiled flooring and spacious walk-in showers.
Elsewhere, you’ll find a ground floor restaurant serving a French Riviera-inspired and international menu prepared with fresh, local, and seasonal Croatian ingredients. There’s also a relaxed bar for coffee, cocktails, and one of the country’s widest whisky selections. Given its historic nature, facilities here are somewhat limited. However, you will have complimentary access to the indoor and outdoor pools and the wellness and spa area at sister property Hotel Lone, just a 20-minute walk away.
Located in the heart of Rovinj’s old town, this boutique hotel ticks the boxes for excellent personal service, thoughtful interiors, and specially commissioned artworks. It is one of the Istrian Peninsula’s most desirable places to stay.
