Greta

Greece & Italy Specialist

Growing up in Athens, I seized every opportunity to explore: from moving to Corfu to study Translation & Interpreting and spending weekends as a tour guide, to accompanying my father on conferences around the world and spending summers on remote Greek islands.

Following a Master’s in Tourism in Milan, I spent a year travelling across Italy, learning the language and falling in love with the dolce vitta, whether it was through getting lost in the narrow streets of Venice, canoeing along the Amalfi Coast, wandering through the artisan quarters of Florence, or soaking in the historical grandeur of Rome.

For me, travel isn’t just about visiting new places, it’s about immersing yourself in each destination as if it were your own. Through Audley, I’m excited to share my knowledge, experiences, and enthusiasm to help create memories that will never fail to make people smile.

Q&A with Greta

Bougainvillea in Ischia, Italy

What’s your most vivid travel moment?

When I was travelling solo in Italy, I visited the Sorgeto Hot Springs in Ischia on a full moon night with some friends I made at my hostel. I remember climbing down the steps to the volcanic beach using our phones as torches and swimming under a sky full of stars. We laughed and shared dinner and wine on floating trays in the springs, with the entire beach to ourselves. The boat ride back, bathed in moonlight, felt like a scene straight from a movie, and the entire experience was magical, and one I’ll always cherish.

The Philosopher's Path in spring, Kyoto

Where would you like to travel next?

Kyoto, Japan, is at the top of my list. Having always been fascinated by Japanese culture and the blend of tradition and modernity, I can’t wait to stay in a townhouse, explore the temples, stroll through cherry blossom gardens, indulge in local cuisine, and immerse myself in the harmony of its nature.

Varlaam Monastery, Meteora

Your best piece of travel advice?

When it comes to exploring Greece don’t overlook the mainland. While the Greek islands are undeniably stunning, the mainland offers incredible experiences often missed by most. From skiing on Mount Parnassus in winter, to indulging in the wild beauty of the Mani Peninsula and exploring the stone villages of Tzoumerka with the enchanting nature that surrounds them, there’s so much to discover. With 80% of Greece being mountainous, the mainland is where you’ll find authentic culture and connect with the heart of the country, away from usual the paths.
