Located in the heart of the Champagne region in Rilly-la-Montagne, just south of Reims, Le Château de Rilly dates back to the 18th century, when it was used as a wine house. Its grand cream façade is echoed inside, where chandeliers drip from the ceilings and large bay windows flood rooms with natural light.
Despite its grandeur, the property offers good value, alongside an intimate feel. There are just 15 rooms, each decorated in neutral tones and elegantly furnished with embroidered fabrics and heavy drapes. Some have a private terrace, and all overlook either the village or the surrounding vineyards.
You can dine in the hotel’s own restaurant, which serves seasonal dishes using ingredients freshly sourced from the local area. To explore the nearby countryside, you could hire a bike. You’re also just a short drive or cycle ride from Reims, with its shops, restaurants and Champagne houses. And, after a day of Champagne tasting, you could relax in the wellness area, which includes a Jacuzzi, two saunas and a massage service.
We love this chateau’s countryside seclusion while still being close to Reims. You can enjoy a personal service among grand interiors as well as good value for money.
