Set on the site of a medieval monastery, Manoir les Minimes overlooks the Loire River and the Château d'Amboise. With exterior walls that bloom with wisteria in the summer and a formal courtyard and stone terrace that offer views of the chateau, Le Manoir les Minimes feels like a sophisticated family home.
Inside, the walls are lined with traditional toile de jouy fabric and are illuminated by natural light that streams through the high windows. The handsome rooms are classically elegant in style and an extensive breakfast is served in the intimate salon.
The heart of town, where there are plenty of restaurants, bistros and local boutiques, can be reached in less than ten minutes on foot.
With a stately courtyard and outdoor terrace offering views of the Château d’Amboise, classically designed interiors and a central location, Le Manoir les Minimes is an excellent base from which to explore medieval Amboise and the Loire Valley.

Rooms
The guest rooms feature classically French toile du jouy fabric, beamed ceilings and antique furnishings which give the impression of staying in a private family home. Some of the rooms boast views of the imposing chateau in the distance others look over the courtyard to the front of the house, but all have high windows which allow in generous amounts of natural light. Air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, DVD player and minibar come as standard in all rooms. Bathrooms generally feature baths rather than showers, although the Manoir Confort rooms have spacious showers and the Prestige Manoir Suite has a separate bath and shower.
Location
Secluded by the weathered walls that surround it, Manoir les Minimes overlooks the Loire River, just a ten-minute walk from the heart of Amboise and fewer than ten minutes from the city’s well-known Château d’Amboise. Also nearby is Leonardo da Vinci’s home at Clos Lucé where models of his many inventions fill the house and expansive grounds.
Food and drink
Breakfast is served in the intimate petit salon with an array of local cheese and charcuterie, freshly baked breads and pastries, and fresh fruit and juices. You can enjoy an afternoon tea or coffee in the living room or a relaxing apéritif on the terrace. Though the hotel doesn’t offer lunch or dinner, a range of restaurants and bistros are less than a five-minute walk away.
Facilities and activities
The hotel has a heated swimming pool and sauna, as well as plenty of indoor space to relax in one of the salons or the library.
Accessibility
All main areas of the hotel are accessible, and one room has been designated as the accessible room.
Alternative places to stay nearby
Where possible, we like to offer a range of accommodation for each stop of your trip, chosen by our specialists as some of their favourite places to stay. To help you make the right choice, we give each property a rating based on its facilities and service, but we also look for hotels with distinct character or a location that can't be bettered.
