A Heidelberg institution, Hotel Europäischer Hof has been offering a luxe hotel experience for more than 150 years. As it’s grown over the years, the hotel has added a state-of-the-art spa, a tranquil garden and a rooftop pool and sun terrace with views out onto the Heidelberg Castle.
The hotel feels luxe from the moment you walk through the round Roman-style entrance and up the red-carpeted central staircase. The lobby has a comfortable gallery sitting area with wood-accented red walls, plush carpets on the marble floor and sage green and soft red chairs around coffee tables. In homage to its long history and prestigious clientele, the sitting area walls are lined with aristocratic portraits from years gone by.
There are 117 rooms and suites, each individually designed with touches like crystal chandeliers, ornate sconces and a consistent palette of red, sage, cream and gold.
OUR OPINION:
We love that this elegant and luxe hotel in Heidelberg is still family owned and in a great location. The high-end service will make your visit feel even more special.
There are 117 rooms and suites in Hotel Europäischer Hof, ranging from Standard rooms to the Penthouse Suite and serviced apartments. Though they’re the smallest, Standard rooms are still spacious and offer modern amenities like towel warmers and soundproof windows. Air conditioning, Wi-Fi and en suite bathrooms come standard in all rooms.
The Standard rooms face the street, while the next level up, the Comfort rooms, face the courtyard. Each level is more luxe than the next, with the Penthouse suite spanning the entire fourth floor and boasting two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a view of Heidelberg Castle.
The rooms were meticulously designed in-house, and feature high quality linens, hand-picked fabrics, crystal chandeliers and ornate sconces.
