Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Paris. Upon your arrival in Paris, your private driver will meet you at the airport and drive you to your centrally located hotel. Spend some time relaxing before taking a private evening tour of the city where, with a glass of Champagne in hand, you'll witness Paris’s best-loved monuments illuminated at night.
-
This morning, your driver-guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and take you to Château de Versailles for a tour of the grand palace and its extensive grounds that will last most of the day. Afterwards, you'll return to your hotel and spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at your leisure.
-
Spend your final morning in Paris exploring Montmartre with your guide, who’ll share the history of this district and its eponymous hill, topped with the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur. Finish your time in the capital with dinner at its most famous landmark, the Eiffel Tower.
-
Today, you'll take the train to Luxembourg City, around 2 hours and 30 minutes away, where you'll board your ship and begin your European river cruise, beginning along the Moselle River.
-
You'll stop in Traben-Trarbach, where you could join a guided walking or cycling tour to learn more about the town's history. Later on, you'll cruise to Bernkastel-Kues for the opportunity to join a guided walk through the old town, passing the medieval and Renaissance buildings. End with a winery visit and tasting.
-
After continuing along the river, you’ll pause to enjoy a hike to Reichsburg Cochem castle, including a visit inside its 11th-century walls. Alternatively, join a walking tour or bike ride through the fairytale-like town of Cochem. Later, you'll sail to Lahnstein for a visit to Burg Lahneck, a 13th-century castle.
-
Continue your cruise as you enter the Rhine’s waters. You’ll stop in Rüdesheim where you could ride the gondola to the 19th-century Niederwalddenkmal Statue, a monument built to commemorate the founding of the German Empire in 1871. Alternatively, sample some of the town’s renowned wines at a tasting — you also have the option to take a walk through the town's surrounding vineyards.
-
Today you'll stop in Wertheim, on the confluence of the Main and Tauber rivers, where you might like to hike to the stone ruins of the town's fortress or explore the well-preserved medieval streets on a walking tour. Alternatively, visit a pretzel bakery to see how the bread is made and enjoy a tasting, or soak in the scenery of the Main River Valley on a bike ride.
-
Continuing along the Main River, you can take a walking tour of Würzburg with its Baroque architecture, or visit the city's Residenz Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively, you could hike to Würzburg's 19th-century castle, the Marienberg Fortress, or opt for a day trip to the well-preserved medieval town of Rothenburg, located on the Romantic Road.
-
Today, you might enjoy a historic walking tour of Bamberg, or indulge in a tasting of liquorice, Hornla pastries, smoked beer and traditional German sausage. Alternatively, you could pedal from Eltmann to Bamberg to admire the rural countryside, meeting your ship there later in the day.
-
Today your cruise will come to an end. After disembarking the ship in Nuremberg, enjoy a walking tour before making your way to Prague by private transfer.
-
Take a privately guided walking tour of Prague's Old Town and Jewish Quarter. Sights include the Estates Theatre, Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock. Enjoy dinner under your own arrangements before relaxing back at your hotel.
