The Old Inn is located on the main street in Bandipur, housed in two wings, 150 years old and 250 years old, respectively. Carefully restored, it still retains the original wooden doorways and red bricks of its original Newari architecture, which greatly adds to its character.
Rooms are spread across three floors and vary in size and style with en suite bathrooms. Some rooms have mountain views while others look out over the bazaar.
Food is a mix of continental and Nepali cuisines and can be enjoyed in the dining area opening out onto the bazaar allowing you to interact with other guests or on a terrace at the back which offers a higher level of privacy.
OUR OPINION:
A hotel steeped in history, The Old Inn is located on the main street in Bandipur, but as the street is pedestrianised the property remains a peaceful place to stay. It’s well positioned to explore a rustic old town with lots of small eateries and cafes on a traffic free street bustling with people.

Being a restored heritage property, the rooms are accessed with lots of low doorways and narrow staircases spread across three floors. The rooms vary in size and style, and all come with en suite bathrooms. Some rooms have mountain views while others look out over the bazaar.

The Old Inn is situated in the middle of a pedestrian only, quirky, and photogenic high street of Bandipur.
Food and drink
Food is a mix of continental and Nepali cuisines and can be enjoyed communally, allowing you to socialise with other guests. The ground floor features dark wooden beams and pillars and is used as a dining area, opening out onto the bazaar. A terrace at the back offers a higher level of privacy. Complimentary tea and coffee are available throughout your stay.
Facilities and activities
The town of Bandipur is very quaint and a walk through the village is highly recommended. The architecture in the town takes you back in time with traditional houses that intermingle with small shops with plenty of local crafts including wood and metal working and small farms, a rare sight even in Nepal these days.
