This one day sea kayaking adventure takes groups of no more than eight paddlers out toward the southern end of the Queen Charlotte Sound. You and your guide will paddle to secluded coves and sheltered beaches while also learning about the wildlife and history of the Sounds.
Morning tea is taken on one of the sandy shores, then another relaxed paddle will take you deeper into the tranquil, bush-clad hills. A stop for lunch includes plenty of time for swimming or a short bush walk, and your guide will happily entertain you with stories of the fascinating history, wildlife and Māori legends of the area. You follow the gentle shoreline, watching out for nesting shags, as you make your way back into Picton.
