Sea fishing experience

Suitable for both experienced fishermen and those who have never held a rod and reel before, this fishing cruise boards at Svolvær. The MS Symra is a classic wooden vessel, with sleek lines, two masts, and just ten fishing posts, ensuring that you’ll have ample time to try your hand.

Heading out from port, you’ll pass Fiskerkona, or Fisherman’s Wife, a weatherbeaten statue of a woman looking out to sea. As you continue, the crew will tell you about the rich history of fishing in the Lofoten Islands, which dates back centuries. They’ll also point out any animals like seals and sea eagles or interesting features you might pass, making it a good option for photographers as well as would-be fishermen.

You have the option of bringing your catch back to shore and having a professional chef turn it into a gourmet meal. You can also choose to release any fish you catch back into the ocean.

Available from May until the end of October, this trip makes a great option for families, who can get their own fishing spot on deck. Though the weather is mild during these months, the weather on the boat can get very cold, so we suggest you plan to bring extra layers.
