Conveniently close by, today you have tickets to go all the way up to Burj Khalifa’s exclusive 148th floor. Soak in the sights of Dubai from up high as you make your way around one of the world’s tallest buildings. After making your way down, the afternoon is yours to explore. We’d recommend walking around Burj Park and checking out the dancing fountain show at Dubai Mall or further afield, the Museum of the Future is well worth a visit.
-
Today you’ll have an opportunity to explore Dubai’s historic souks and sample traditional food on a shared walking tour. Led by an experienced guide, they will share stories of growing up in the UAE and tell you all about their local culture. You’ll visit the traditional markets of the Spice Souq and the Textile Souq, travelling across Dubai Creek on an abra, a wooden water taxi. Tickle your tastebuds as you try delicious Emirati, Indian and Iranian snacks, from sweet Emirati dumplings to Iranian dill-scented soup.
-
This morning you’ll be picked up by your private driver guide for a full-day tour of the growing capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi. Leaving Dubai behind, you’ll be spending the day exploring key sites with highlights being the magnificent Abu Dhabi Museum, the presidential palace of Qaṣr Al-Waṭan and one of the largest mosques in the world, Sheikh Zayed Mosque. You’ll end the day at scenic Yas Island before checking into your hotel for the night.
-
Your private driver will collect you from your hotel and transfer you to Abu Dhabi International Airport for your flight to Muscat. On arrival, you are met by your private driver and transferred to your Muscat hotel. This evening, you head out for a Muscat by-night experience and visit some of the iconic sights in the capital, including the Muttrah Souq, before having dinner at a local restaurant.
-
The Gulf of Oman boasts a host of ocean life and beautiful coral reefs. Today you head out on a motorboat and try and spot the local dolphin population. You also have the opportunity to go snorkelling among the beautiful coral reefs and might be lucky enough to see sea turtles.
-
This morning you depart Muscat and are driven up to the Jebel Akhdar mountains. En route, you stop in the historic fort town of Nizwa, with its ancient medina and souq, once one of the largest souqs in the Middle East. Take the chance to understand more about daily life in Nizwa by having lunch with a local family. You also visit the forts at Bahla and Jabrin, one of the best-preserved forts in Oman.
-
Head out with your local guide on one of the prettiest hikes in Oman, from Al Aqur to Saiq. This is a relatively short walk downhill and boasts some of the best views in the Jebel Akhdar. As you walk through rural villages, you will see beautiful landscapes, including colourful flowers, rose gardens, and farms, particularly if you visit during spring.
-
With your driver-guide, today you will explore some of the villages, wadis, and viewpoints in the Jebel Akhdar. In Al Hamra, a town nestled against the base of Jebel Shams, you will find two and three-storey mud houses reminiscent of Yemeni architecture. After, visit Misfah, a village burrowed into the sheer cliff face which hangs over the canyon below. Next, you will enjoy one of the most remarkable views in the region from Wadi Nakheer, the highest point in the Arabian Peninsula.
-
You depart your hotel in the Jebel Akhdar mountains today and descend toward the Wahiba Sands desert. After around 11km of cruising through the rolling sand dunes, you reach your luxury desert camp. On arrival, you have a camel ride across the dunes at sunset, to really get into the spirit of the Bedouin culture.
-
You wake up at your luxury desert camp, set between two 30-metre-high sand dunes, and have the morning to relax. You are then driven back to Muscat and have the rest of the day to spend at leisure at The Chedi, a wonderful property with plenty of facilities.
-
On your final day in Oman, you spend the morning preparing some delicious, traditional cuisine at a cooking class. After enjoying the fruits of your labour for lunch, your driver will collect you from your hotel and transfer you to Muscat International Airport in time for your flight home. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
