Tranquilo Bay

Tranquilo Bay's elevated position on Bastimentos Island offers beautiful views over lush forest to a sweeping bay and the Caribbean Sea. The six deluxe air conditioned cabanas are set in a forest clearing with their own porch, hammocks and excellent en suite bathrooms.

It's a home from home style rainforest hideaway and you will be served delicious home cooked meals in the main house, often accompanied by the two families that own the property. Pristine mangroves border the island and a long raised walkway winds through them from the lodge to a large covered jetty raised over the Caribbean.

The boardwalks throughout the property are often slippery from the rain and relatively dark at night so come prepared to be sure-footed. Torches are provided in the rooms. The personalised and welcoming hospitality from Jim, Renee, Jay and Stephanie who built the lodge makes a stay here extremely pleasant.
