Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Lima. Arriving in Lima, you're met by your private guide and assisted to your hotel, where you will rest up for the evening before beginning your journey further into Peru.
-
Depending on your flight time to Cuzco, there may be time for a tour of Lima; we'd recommend one that takes in a bit of great food and the cathedral but has plenty of other options, too. After that, you will fly to Cuzco, where you will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel via private transfer. The rest of the day and evening will be yours to enjoy at your leisure as you acclimatise to the high altitude.
-
Enjoy a guided tour of the highlights of Cuzco and nearby Inca ruins this morning. Then, this afternoon your guide will take you on a tour with a difference, discovering and tasting the street food of Cuzco from cuy to corn and an array of candies too.
-
Today, your guide will take you through the Sacred Valley with stops at one of the most vibrant markets in Peru, the spectacular agricultural terraces of Moray, and the colourful salt pans at Maras. The day will end at your hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
-
We've included a trek from Chinchero to Urquillos today; it's one of our top picks, but there are many other options of varying levels of difficulty so please do talk to us about what would suit you best.
-
Start today with a privately guided tour of the ruins of Ollantaytambo before taking the one-and-a-half-hour train journey to Machu Picchu with your guide. If there's time, stop for a drink at the café on the platform (they distil their own liquor, which is very distinct). The journey traces the edge of the white-water Urubamba River as it twists through the increasingly steep-sided valley. You’ll spot a series of Incan sites from your seat before arriving at Aguas Calientes. After disembarking from the train, you will take a short bus journey up to Machu Picchu for your privately guided tour of the Inca citadel.
-
A lot of people like to have this morning free to return to the ruins so that is how we have left it before you return to Cuzco on the train. Your driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel. Enjoy your final night in Cuzco, wander the colonial streets and enjoy a meal in one of the city's excellent restaurants.
-
Take a private transfer to Cuzco's airport for your flight to Lima, then catch your onward international connection.
-
Arrive home today to complete your journey.
