At Leeu House, contemporary artwork, neutral shades and tasteful decor merge beautifully with the building’s Cape Dutch heritage. The manicured gardens and shaded terraces are particularly inviting. There is a pool for cooling off in the heat of the day and plenty of sunloungers for relaxing and enjoying views of the mountains of the Franschhoek valley.

Breakfast is served daily and guests can also take part in complimentary tastings of Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines during their stay.

The property has air-conditioning throughout and the bedrooms have underfloor heating for the cooler evenings.

Rooms

There are several room types: Classic, Deluxe, Studio, Executive Suites and Cottages. Cottages have private living areas and different combinations of bedrooms. The stylish interiors throughout are a contemporary take on Franschhoek’s traditional Cape Dutch heritage in relaxing neutral hues. All rooms either open on to their own private gardens, an intimate terrace courtyard or a private balcony. Each is equipped with modern amenities including high-speed Wi-Fi, international plug sockets, minibar, Nespresso coffee machine and electronic safe. All bathrooms are en suite with marble features, double sinks, rain showers and heated towel rails.

Location

The hotel is located on the main road of Franschhoek within walking distance of many boutique shops, coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants and bars. It is an ideal base for wine lovers who want to enjoy a central yet tranquil hotel with the highest standards.

Food and drink

Dishes are created using fresh organic produce and are served in The Conservatory restaurant or alfresco on the terrace. The hotel offers a 24-hour room service as well as lunches and dinners for in-house guests only. The minibars are stocked once a day free of charge.

Families

Children of all ages are welcome at Leeu House and can be accommodated on sleeper couches when sharing a room with their parents.

Honeymooners

The hotel has an intimate feel to it which is ideal for honeymooners or those who are celebrating an anniversary. Staff seem to go out of their way to give honeymooners the best possible experience.
