Rooms

The 28 rooms and suites are individually decorated in the same opulent but eclectic style as the public spaces. They differ in size, with the sprawling Penthouse providing the most space. Each has a private balcony and contemporary African art. Expect super-sized beds, Egyptian chandeliers, gilt-framed mirrors and vivid velvet upholstery. Enormous multi-faceted windows overlook the port, city or Table Mountain and are mirrored in the bathroom, where you can take in sweeping views as you soak in the bathtub. On arrival, you're welcomed with a gourmet snack box and a complimentary minibar stocked with local wines and soft drinks. Facilities are as indulgent as you might expect with touch-pad blinds, branded toiletries and a Nespresso machine as well as air conditioning and Wi-Fi.

Location

The hotel sits right at the heart of Cape Town’s most vibrant area, five minutes’ walk from the V&A Waterfront. The Robben Island ferry is almost on the doorstep and the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) is directly below the hotel on the lower floors of the original building.

Food and drink

• Granary Cafe serves breakfast including pastries, fresh fruit and juice, charcuterie and local cheeses, as well as cooked options such as an omelette soufflé with smoked salmon, feta and avocado.
• There’s a wide range of specialty teas to choose from and you can enjoy views over the docks.
• At lunch and dinner the menu has a small selection of diverse dishes, featuring classic grills such as beef tartare and steak frites.
• The Silo Rooftop offers light snacks and cocktails, as well as oysters with champagne or small bites from the tempura bar.
• The Willaston Bar serves small plates, classic bar snacks and a wide range of drinks. 
• Private dining options on request.
