Ceylon Tea Trails, Norwood Bungalow

Ceylon Tea Trails is a collection of four carefully restored planter's bungalows, situated in different locations in a stunning area of Sri Lanka's hill country and owned by Dilmah Tea. Built between 1890 and 1939 each bungalow has its own style, but they all combine classical and contemporary styles.

Norwood is one of two bungalows with a swimming pool. The bungalow at Norwood commands a fine view of the eastern end of the Bogawantalawa valley and rests in the shelter of one of the finest bamboo stands to be found anywhere. The five suites are spacious, with imposing colonial style furniture, some with four-poster beds and very elegant bathrooms. The staff is discrete and charming and will help arrange local excursions or leave you to relax and enjoy your beautiful surroundings.

It's not just the tea and their beautiful bungalows but the humanitarian work they do honouring their privilege as stewards of these pristine locations. One such initiative includes the Peak Ridge Forest Corridor to protect the leopard population, empowering workers on the tea estates and supporting their families, the creation of model montane forests and more. It's worth mentioning that 15% of profits go to their charitable foundations that serve communities around Sri Lanka in areas of healthcare, support for disabled children and their families, education, and vocational, environmental and entrepreneurship development.
