Sun House

Located a 10-minute walk from central Galle (or an even shorter tuk-tuk ride), this beautiful villa was built in the 1860s by a Scottish cinnamon merchant. Set on a quiet hill away from the bustle, the Sun House enjoys views of both the fort and port. It has a mature garden abundant with frangipani trees, which surround the courtyard and lead to the pool. The seven suites are all different: thoughtfully furnished with antiques and artwork, but with 21st-century comforts.

The Sun House is known for its fine dining. The Gallean restaurant serves an eclectic selection of Asian fusion dishes and artfully concocted cocktails.
