Rooms

Rooms range in size from the double room to the Deluxe suites, which have a balcony, fireplace and views of the Matterhorn. The singular Chalet Suite, located on the top floor with its own entrance, has ceilings and walls of unfinished pine and creates the feeling of living in your own chalet.

All rooms include a Nespresso machine, minibar, bath, shower and Wi-Fi. There is no air conditioning, but the mountain climate doesn’t require it.

Location

The Grand Hotel Zermatterhof is in the heart of Zermatt, forming a distinctive silhouette among the surrounding Alpine buildings.

The views from the hotel are excellent in all directions, as mountains shape the horizon everywhere you turn, dominated by the familiar tooth of the Matterhorn.

The hotel allows guests to arrive in 19th-century style by arranging horse-drawn carriage rides from the train station.

• Brasserie Lusi offers French brasserie cuisine in casual but classy surroundings, with a large outside terrace for sunny summer lunches.
• Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni is a Michelin-star restaurant producing an all-local menu with imaginative twists.
• The How Do You Do bar is a great place for a light lunch, afternoon tea or cocktail beside a log fire.
• The Stars Bar serves extravagant cocktails with gentle piano music, late into the night.

Families

• Extra beds can be provided in most room types, so children of all ages are welcome.
• Suites have a separate living area with a sofa bed, and some connect with a classic room making them good for families with older children.
