Rooms

Inside the resort enjoy the comfort of spacious and smart rooms featuring light, contemporary decor and fully equipped with all the amenities you need for a relaxed stay. Ranging Garden Pavilion rooms, nestled across the landscaped gardens, to Terraced Suites that face the verdant rainforest and mountain backdrop and Beach Villas that offer sweeping sea views.

Location

Another highlight of the resort is its location. Set on the northwest coast of Koh Lanta, Layana has a great beachfront location on Long Beach, a wide and as its name suggests, long stretch of golden sand. There are other resorts along the beach as well as a good choice of local restaurants, making the hotel a great choice for those who like to get out and about. Saladan Town on the north coast is only about ten minutes’ drive away offering a choice of restaurants, bars and shops.

Food and drink

For dining, Layana offers a range of choices, including Sea Sky which serves an à la carte selection of international dishes as well as traditional Thai fare and seafood specialties. The restaurant is perched on the very edge of the beach overlooking the sea, open to the cooling sea breezes. Guests have the choice of a cool interior venue, or an alfresco beachside setting on the deck in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is quite formal with a dress code in the evening of ‘resort casual'. For a more casual option the Sundowners Bar facing the beach, offering refreshing fruit shakes and cool drinks by day and evening cocktails.

Facilities and activities

The facilities include two large saltwater pools forming the showpiece of the resort: the wellness pool near reception and the main pool and Jacuzzi at the beachfront.

Other activities include Hobie-Cat sailing, available from November to April and the hotel also offers kayaks. On land there's a gym with a variety of equipment and mountain bikes are on hand for those wishing to explore the island, while Layana's 'Linger Longer Spa' is ideal for relaxation.

Set within its own walled garden and featuring five treatment rooms, enjoy a range of treatments that fuses influences from east and west to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being. All therapists are fully trained and the products used are top quality. The spa also offers a sauna, outdoor Jacuzzi and salt treatment room.

Diving is possible from about November to April; outside this time the weather conditions are not suitable for dives. There's a PADI school at the hotel where guests can arrange diving in nearby Phi Phi Marine National Park or Mu Koh Lanta Marina National Park. In the latter, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are renowned as some of the best diving in Thailand apart from the Similan Islands. Their coral plays host to a wide variety of marine life including reef fish, barracuda, reef sharks, manta rays and even occasionally whale sharks (February to April).
