Hotel Dukes’ Palace

Hotel Dukes' Palace

Bruges, Belgium

An elegant combination of red brick, white stone and turreted towers, the façade of Hotel Dukes’ Palace conveys the same grandeur and opulence that you’ll find inside. The hotel combines historical design features like exposed wooden beams and parquet flooring with modern luxuries like extensive spa services, top-level service and a full-menu restaurant.

The building was constructed in 1412 for Philip the Great as his private residence, and later the castle was occupied by Mary of Burgundy. At one time it also served as a convent. The original design elements are evident in the stone fireplaces and stained-glass windows that you can see in the protected castle and abbey portions.

The 110 rooms and suites are some of the more generously sized in Bruges and are traditional in style, with red and gold floral patterns on upholstered seating, large picture windows and local artwork.

OUR OPINION:

We love this hotel for its central location in the heart of historic Bruges, as well as the generous room and suite sizes. Its abundance of family-friendly services make it a particularly good option if you have children.
